CREATIVE WRITING

My passion is writing, and I have always wanted to be a writer. I have always wrote short stories and children's stories when I was younger which led me to develop my skills to writing literary pieces and eventually genre writing; specifically fiction-fantasy and Sci-Fi. I love the out-of-world elements that genre writing provides, and my biggest goal as an author is to be able to transport my reader from this world into a world of my own creation, where they can forget their problems and experience something new. Along with fiction, I do also write some poetry, and have even gotten one of my poems published; "This is Just to Say."

MY WRITING

As a writer, I am constantly creating, changing, and trying to publish my work. During my schooling, it was required that I take workshop classes that the professors and my peers would analyze and critique. This is to improve pieces upon revision on what is currently working and what is not. I have added two samples of my writing; one being a Literary Fiction piece and the other is the poem I got published.

I have also added the link to my first children's book that I have gotten published, "The Forest Jade."

Creative Writing: Projects

"The Forest Jade" is my first published children's book.

This story follows Jade, a dragon in the forest who would first rather lose his sense of self than lose his friends. When villagers attack his forest, he learns that he needs to embrace who he is to take care of those he loves.

"Chocolates and Flowers" was written for a class as a literary fiction piece following the main character Mira and her decision on whether to pursue a relationship with Frank.

Another piece for a workshop class as an imitation from William Carlos Williams' poem titled the same. It was chosen to be published in Valencia College's literary magazine Fallero.
